1. Client-Side Processing Guarantee (Zero Media Uploads)
BitrateCalc operates on a strict Zero-Upload, Client-Side architecture. When you use our video duration inspector or drag-and-drop a file:
- Your files are parsed directly inside your device's web browser via standard HTML5 Blob APIs.
- Your media files are NEVER transmitted across the internet, never uploaded, and never saved on any server.
- All bitrate calculations, audio allocations, and resolution estimations run 100% in local client-side memory.
2. Analytics & Usage Data
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand anonymous aggregate website traffic, such as page views, country-level geography, browser types, and calculation event interactions (e.g. presets clicked).
GA4 collects anonymized data that does not identify individual visitors personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
3. Cookies & Google AdSense Advertising
BitrateCalc may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and affiliated third-party advertising partners to support free hosting and maintenance of this utility.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites across the internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by opting out of third-party vendor cookies at www.aboutads.info.
4. Children's Online Privacy (COPPA)
BitrateCalc is a general audience video utility tool and does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
